Conditions of Booking and Travel
-
All
seats are fully reserved
and must be booked and paid for in advance.
-
Special seating
requests are welcome and
we will always try our best to meet them if the booking is
received at least two weeks before the date of running.
-
Our trains operate within the
constraints of the busy national rail network, and confirmed
pick up, set down, destination and other relevant timings /
arrangements are not normally available to us until a week or so
beforehand. These times may vary by up to an hour in either or
both directions and, therefore, timings quoted within this
website are for guidance only. Timings shown within the
letter sent out with your boarding passes will supersede all
others published herein or elsewhere.
-
Every effort will be made to
ensure that the advertised locomotive(s), coaching stock, route,
timings and options will be as proposed, but Pathfinder reserve
the right to alter these, due to third party influences, at any
time and shall not incur any liability
to any person who has bought, or
contracted to buy, a boarding pass, or passes, as a result of
any such changes.
-
On the day of operation, all
reasonable efforts will be made to ensure that the excursion
runs as planned, but we may need to react to delays,
mishaps, alterations or curtailment from situations outside of
our direct control. Pathfinder will take all steps to ensure
that passengers return to their joining stations by whatever
means of transport that may be necessary.
-
Pathfinder regretfully cannot be
held liable for any missed connections
or non-use of boarding passes. This includes 'no shows' on the
day. Therefore, please allow plenty of time to reach your
boarding station and, if appropriate, sufficient time to park
your car and to make your way to the correct platform ready to
join the excursion train.
-
Boarding
passes are issued subject to the
conditions set out on this page and your application for, and
subsequent use, of the boarding pass(es) constitutes
acceptance of these conditions.
-
Once a booking has been made,
negative changes may attract an alteration fee of £4.00.
-
If an excursion is
cancelled by Pathfinder Tours a
full refund will be made, but no other liability shall be
incurred.
-
Refund
requests by yourself (Day
Tours & Excursions) are considered under the following scale: +
cancellation up to 28 days before the date of running = 90%
refund + between 14 and 27 days = 75% refund + between 7 and 13
days = 50% refund + within 7 days = no refund Refunds will be
made by credit note, which can be used against a future
Pathfinder excursion booking. The scale of cancellation charges
also applies if the moneys paid are transferred, at your
request, to another
Pathfinder excursion.
-
Refund
requests by yourself (Continental and Long Weekend Excursions /
Holidays): Upon booking a
non-refundable deposit is payable. The balance is due by one
mouth before the departure date and is non-refundable once paid.
-
We ask that all cancellations by
yourself are made in writing (email or post) to prevent any misunderstandings.
-
Independent travel and cancellation insurance
is highly recommended to give financial protection and peace of
mind.
-
To meet EU package tour
regulations, moneys paid for Scottish Weekend and Continental
Holidays are held in a special clients bank account and will not
be released from it until completion of the excursion.
- Pathfinder Tours is the trading name of
Pathfinder Tours (2006) Limited, company registration number
