On this summer excursion we travel through the Midlands to Yorkshire, where you have a choice of destinations:
Option A – York (1150 – 1715) Explore this historic city and its attractions such as the Jorvik Viking Centre, York Minster, the Shambles, National Railway Museum and more.
Option B – Knaresborough (1215 – 1635) A market town with castle remains, Mother Shipton’s Cave, Courthouse Museum, and the much photographed railway viaduct.
Option C – Harrogate (1225 – 1620) A spa town that caters for visitors from all walks of life, with a many individual shops and places to eat, including Bettys, now 100 years old!
Option D – Leeds (1300 – 1535) This former woollen town on the Aire-Calder Navigation has a long history and is now a financial centre on the world stage. There are at least a dozen art galleries, plus the Royal Armouries Museum, the Kirkgate Market, the stunning Victoria Quarter and shopping to meet every taste.
‘Tables for Two’ seats are available at a supplement of £35 per person in First Class, First Class Plus and Premier Dining.
Motive power is expected to be a pair of D.R.S. Class 37 locomotives throughout.
Please note that the opening of Worcestershire Parkway station mentioned in our Spring/Summer brochure has been delayed, so our excursion will not be stopping there.
