UPDATE: Saturday 3rd December 2022 – The North Eastern Christmas Markets
Although this train is primarily an excursion to the North Eastern Christmas Markets, it has been advertised to be hauled by Deltic 55009 Alycidon. However, we would like to advise you that on returning to depot after a number of working visits to heritage railways, 55009 was found to have developed a fault that the owners, the Deltic Preservation Society, say cannot be fixed in time for this excursion.
In place of 55009, this tour will now be hauled by English Electric Class 40 No. 40145. A WCRC locomotive will work the section between Swindon – Burton-on-Trent (Return).
Our grateful thanks go to West Coast Railway Company and Network Rail for agreeing to the change, and particularly to the Class Forty Preservation Society for making their locomotive available to us.
