AS SUMMER DRAWS CLOSER, WHY NOT LET THE TRAIN TAKE THE STRAIN

AS WE TRAVEL TO THE BEAUTIFUL ENGLISH RIVIERA

Departing from Burton-on-Trent in the morning, hauled by a pair of Class 33 ‘Cromptons’, we pick-up at stations to Bristol, then direct to the glorious Devon Coast in the South West.

On the way down we will dart across the Somerset Levels, through Exeter St. Davids and skirt along the famous Dawlish Sea Wall to reach our first destination at Torquay and then journeys end at Paignton.

There will be up to four hours to enjoy stunning Torbay, often referred to as the English Riviera. There will also be time to join the optional Paignton and Dartmouth service to Kingswear!

Our return journey departs later afternoon, travelling back along the Dawlish Sea Wall. At Taunton we divert onto the Berks and Hants line, where we travel up Bruton bank and through Castle Cary.
At Westbury we circle back along the Avon Valley and through Bath to retrace our outward journey setting down at those stations we picked up.

Our special train will be hauled by West Coast Railway Class 33 diesel locomotives throughout.
Upon arrival at Paignton, a special Class 37 hauled train has been arranged by the Paignton and Dartmouth Railway to take our passengers all the way to beautiful tourist destination of Dartmouth, (including the ferry from Kingswear) or you are free to do as you please at Paignton and catch our train home for the return journey.
(Please note: There will be an additional fare for the P&D train journey, payable locally)
